ETSY: Four Corners of Craft at TentLondon

This summer I was delighted to be selected for the Etsy Show at TentLondon, as part of this year’s London Design Festival.

The show with @EtsyUK was titled Four Corners of Craft as it represented makers from each country in the UK.

It was fantastic to exhibit alongside such brilliant makers, and to get the opportunity to have a presence at the prestigious event TentLondon.

It was wonderful to explore the rest of the venue at Tent and to see such a wealth of international makers…

Here is a selection of my favourite picks from the weekend:

IMMERSE – A Collaboration for SIT: Select Trail

My latest project was an exciting collaboration with artist Kate Montgomery.

We worked together to create a multisensory interactive space. It was designed to entice the audience to fully immerse in their senses – Kate’s beautiful written narrative guides you through various sensory feasts, photography, smells, colours and sounds.

It was a very new and exciting direction for both of us, and has opened up new directions to work in; new scale, new materials, and a passion for a collaborative working process.

Kate’s work with CleverMonty brings new life to reclaimed furniture – we teamed up to exhibit our work together in her space at Victoria Works Studios, Stroud. Alongside our new installation work, we also exhibited our furniture and jewellery together.

Our show was part of the SIT:Select Trail in Stroud, and we were lucky enough to get a feature in their beautiful catalogue, as well as the featured article in the Selected Journal.

The making of this commissioned kinetic ring was a very lengthy and fiddly process, but definitely worth it!

The cap slides along to hide or reveal the set stone.

A lovely customer gave me an open commission to do as I wish with her sapphire – this was both exciting and daunting in equal measure…

After drawing up a lot of ideas, we settled on this design, and I was pleased to finally be able to send it off this week.

So pleased she’s happy with it!

Hammered gold wedding band, from recycling a customer’s old beloved rings.

The second commission was a pair of pierced silver “duck silhouette” cufflinks.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this year’s MADELondon, with fellow Hothouse 4 makers.

It was great to be surrounded by so many inspiring makers, and to meet so many lovely people.

Thanks to all those who helped, or came to visit our stand!

Sadly leaving my lovely studio space in Penryn, Cornwall.

The Little Yellow House has been a wonderful place to start up in my first year of business, and I shall miss the location and company no end!

Changing scenery and moving on to Bristol… wish me luck!

Setting up Bovey Tracey

I had some fascinating feedback from the public, lots of new ideas and lovely new customers.

I have enjoyed visiting this show for the past 3 years, so it was a privilege to exhibit here this year.

It was also such a satisfying experience exhibiting alongside the other HotHousers at the end of our crazy journey together, where we have learnt and shared so much. It was so exciting to finally see everyone in this setting!

This weekend – Fal Oyster Gathering

The Little Yellow House Studios is presenting a Makers and Artists tent at this year’s Fal Oyster Gathering!

We start setting up this evening, will be open to the public on Friday 28th March. We’ve gathered some lovely local designers to show and sell their work until Sunday.

There will also be the unveiling of the new seafood restaurant, Ostraca, which is looking bloody fantastic.
