BA (HONS) CONTEMPORY CRAFTS PROJECT
My synaesthesia affects my experiences of certain materials, colours, words and sounds.
I took casts of all the original glass rings, and used this mould to recreate them in new, unconventional materials, including ice, chocolate and jelly.
Synaesthesia is a condition where senses combine; it has been interesting to explore and document my physical and involuntary responses evoked from forms and materials. As a designer I wanted to recreate these sensations for the viewer; evoke the flavours I taste, the weight and the temperatures I feel.
